I use Sync.com (Dropbox alternative) for file backup/storage. If I set a file to “Online only” it keeps a ghost/symbolic link on the drive of the file, but removes it from actual storage.
FFS is seeing them as actual files (despite being 0 byte links/references) and trying to perform a copy which causes Sync.com to download the actual file which then gets synced.
My goal is to have it just copy the 0 byte links/references over as-is.
Is is there a way to make it do that? Checking the symlink option doesn’t work; the system still treats them as files and downloads/copies them over.
Thanks.
Doesn’t Recognize Online Only Cloud Files as Symbolic Links

If FFS sees them as 0-size files, you can use a filter to exclude items under a certain size.
Other than that, there probably isn't a way to do this. Same "issue" with OneDrive 'Files-On-Demand'
