Duplicates on left not found on right (b/c it's deep in a sub-folder?)

Hey,

I'm trying to clean up some duplicate photos and FFS is confusing me lately in a way it hasn't before. Maybe I just haven't used it in a while or am doing something more complicated this time. Anyway-

For this one example I chose one small folder with a few photos in it. The directory was "bridge pics". Only those. Full directory was <backup>--<phone>--<city>--<for sale>--<bridge pics>

On the right was where all my photos are stored. This directory would be the 'master' that I'm comparing against. It's a large directory. The path is just <city>.

Varient: File content
Filter: Only the usual/default
Synchronization: Delete the left item, no other action.

So I run the comparison.

On the left side, at the top of the list are my 'bridge pic' files. They are listed as unique. (Nothing on the right side matching them.)

On the right side, there are tons of files of course. Files, folders, and files inside of those folders.

So as I understand it, FFS is telling me the files on the left are unique. But when I copy a filename from a file on the left, and search for it on the right (in Windows, not FFS). That file exists. In fact, ALL the files on the left have a duplicate on the right.

What's going on?

My first guess, obviously is that it depends on the directories. Since left side is basically a 'root' folder, 1 level, FFS is only looking for those files in the same top/root/1st level of the folder on the right.

So how do I fix this? Obviously I want to know if the files on the left exist anywhere on the right. I'm happy just identifying them. Actually being able to follow through and delete any duplicates on the left side, would be great.

Can it be done?

I've attached some pics:

Pic 1 - The search results with the short list of pics on the left
Pic 2 - The part of the results where those exact files exist on the right. (Same filename, same exact file size).

Any help?

FFS is not a duplicate finder. The relative path for a file on the right would have to match on the right side to be considered equal. You would have to change the location on the right side to "Bridge Pics" to match the left side
