Error: Only files with binary content can be downloaded. Use Export with Docs Editors files.

I am trying to sync Google Drive for the first time with FreeFileSync. I am getting an error:

Cannot read file: "gdrive:/<username>/<filename>"

Only files with binary content can be downloaded. Use Export with Docs Editors files.


What does this mean, and how do I fix it? I do not see "Export with Docs Editors" anywhere in FreeFileSync.

I am using FreeFileSync_13.8_Install.run downloaded from the FreeFileSync web site. The operating system is PCLinuxOS Debian Edition based on Debian Bookworm.

Unfortunately, I need to synch Drive contents to external hard drive.

That's not possible for Google Doc files.

Grrr...OK. One more reason to hope that the EU and US government try to reak up these mega-giant corporations...
