I have a new 512GB USB drive and I cannot get it to sync properly. I did the first sync of 256GB and it took several hours after reformatting the disk. When syncing again, it hangs while trying to create the sync.ffs files which lock the directories. I never gets to syncing so I force closed the app, deleted the lock files and tried again with the same result.
I have run chkdsk /f on the drive and there are no problems. Bitlocker is not activated.
Secondly all of my other drives work so is this a defective SanDisk drive or is there anything else I can try?

If it works fine on everything besides that drive, it seems logical to me that the drive is the culprit
CHKDSK and formatting are really the only things you can try. You could try a different file system format, but it shouldn't be having an issue like that with any format. If you manually create a file, does it also have this issue?
