The easiest is to use the OneDrive app on your computer. FFS will be able to see your OneDrive files as local files.
Be sure to set the file option "Always keep on this device" or FFS will occasionally have trouble syncing.
The only disadvantage is that there will be a copy of your OneDrive file stored locally on your computer.

Actually, the easiest way is to forget about all that and use a dedicated free OneDrive Cloud Mounting utility program.
Last thing that you want to do is concern yourself with synchronizing files between your Microsoft OneDrive and your local Drive just so that you can use free file sync to back up your data. For starters you might have far more OneDrive storage space than you have local space available to use and in that case you typically cannot and in many cases don't want to synchronize 100% of what you have in the cloud down to your local Drive.
You can use this free utility program to mount a drive letter in Windows to the root of your Microsoft OneDrive and treat it just like ordinary Drive letter in windows.
Free File Sync can then use that drive letter to back up the data.

Hmm, I'm having difficulty getting to that website myself for the very first time. There are other options so don't fret.
Here is a commercial product that has a free tier that will give you OneDrive free of charge or at least they used to: https://www.raidrive.com
There is another commercial product that is inexpensive and works well called Mountainduck.
Personally, I use a free open source command line utility called Rclone.
Try raidrive free version first because it has an easy to use graphical user interface rather than a command line but I can walk you through the setup of rclone. I have instructions and tips for using it that I can share.
