I have been using freefilesync daily on Apple Silicon Macs for a few years. About a week ago though the behavior changed in one particular way. I am using 13.6 and have been using this version since it came out some months ago.
When the Synchronize is finished it would always show a window telling me that and make a sound. Then I would click okay and the window would close. Starting about a week ago though after Synchronize finishes there is no window and no sound. I have not changed any Preferences or other settings. It just magically started behaving different than it has for years.
I want the window and sound that it always did before. How can I get it back? And why did it stop doing it?
Synchronize completion window no longer appears

I just now did a copy as I usually do and I noticed that while the copy was being done the Synchronize window did appear, but then it disappeared as soon as it was done. I noticed though that during that short period there was an option to close the window automatically and it was checked. I had no chance to uncheck it because the window very quickly disappeared. As far as I know, I never checked that option. How can I turn the option off? Is the only way to uncheck it is to do a long copy that gives me enough time to uncheck it? Is there any other better way?

I suppose you can do this using
Tools => Options => Show hidden dialogs and messages again => Show details

Correct, you want:
"Leave progress dialog open after synchronization, (don't auto-close)"
"Leave progress dialog open after synchronization, (don't auto-close)"

Hmm, in the Tools menu there is no Options in the list. The only items are:
Language
Find
Export file list (grayed out)
Reset layout
I then tried pressing the Mac Option key, but the menu is still the same.

Options is the top item, above Language, of that menu (Version 14, Windows).
Missing on Mac?

Yes, no Options on Mac. I was using 13.6, but I just now installed 14.0. Still no Options.
I ran it and when the Synchronize window came up I tried to very quickly turn on the option to keep the window open, but it was impossible. It finished too quickly. I will try to do a bigger copy that last long enough that I have time to do it.

"Think different"! The options menu item is in the system menu on the left.

The system menu is on the left of what? Do you mean on the left of the freefilesync menu? I don't see a system menu there. Do you mean on the left of something else?

Oh, do you mean the FreeFileSync menu? And do you mean Preferences inside that?
