In the folder on the left side there are about 2.300 files in, but - sorry for this question - why don't I see there any file? What setting do I miss?

The icons down the center means the files exist on the left side only. So it will add them to the right. hover you mouse over the icons in the center column and it will tell you that. click the circular arrows at the top of the center column and the icons will change giving you a better view of what the action will do. You also may want to take some time and read through the help manual, many of the questions are answered in there.

Thank you, srjones67.
<<<And what are the arrows down the center look like.
Sorry, which arrows?
<<<Your screen shot is too smaall.
It shows the entire FFS window, what are you missing?
<<<And you need to get the other windows out of the picture.
What do you want to see? The window in the middle didn't close, problems with the ALT+TAB window and the other window just covers some file names. What information do you need being behind these windows?
<<<The icons down the center means the files exist on the left side only. So it will add them to the right. hover you mouse over the icons in the center column and it will tell you that
I would say, there are not shown any files existing on the left side, the files shown with the green icons in front, on the left of these files show that these files are existing on the right side only, also the bigger green icon at the bottom means there are files on the right side, if I am right. Hovering mouse over these green icons shows, files on the right side are shown.
<<<You also may want to take some time and read through the help manual, many of the questions are answered in there.
Yes, I already did.
Thanks again.
