OS: Linux Mint 22.1
I am using Synchronization setting variant "Update"
Copy new and updated files to the right folder.
Create: Copy new item to right
Update: Update right item
Delete: Do nothing
Yet when this sync job runs, it fills my trash can with files.
I expected it to do nothing and I don't know why it sends any files to the trash when it is told to do nothing.

Is your Update using the "Use database" option?
Maybe that is playing in.
If you set up a different, sample sync, without the "Use database" option, does that also send files to trash?
If not, then post a screenshot of your comparison.
See if something here might apply, Why "update" mode want to delete files in Right side?

Thank you, therube!
I did have Update using the "Use database" option set.
deselecting it stopped filling my trash can.
Thank you once again!
