Sync to FTP

I setup my WD 2100 to have FTP access. Then went to the office and accessed the FTP. Once I found I had access, I setup FFS to backup certain files to the FTP. Everything worked great for a while.

Then one day I found files on the FTP folders that didn't belong. Windows would not allow me to examine the files. Defender would just delete them when they were selected. So I simply set up FFS to run a sync with an empty folder to find and delete those specific files. That worked for a while.

Next I noticed files, that were valid files, were now disappearing. I booted up my Linux machine and accessed those files. I found they were a infected with a bitcoin miner. And it had started writing itself to valid files.

So I thought I could just setup the FTP as SFTP instead and have FFS access that. But as soon as I changed any setting on the WD 2100, all access was denied.

I have currently turned off the FTP and deleted all my backups.

I was hoping to find someone that could point me in the direction of using an FTP that FFS could access without the Viruses (for the lack of a better term) creeping into the system.
