I have compared local files with files on the server by content. FFS shows them as unequal. I have then downloaded some of those files and checked / compared again with FFS, now it shows them as equal. Why might it be like that?
And how could I get the right result, when I compare local files with the ones on a server?
And FFS shows different file sizes by comparing local-server of those files and same file sizes after downloading them.
Edit:
I tried a few times, a compare by content of the downloaded entire website gives other results than comparing the website on the server. What could I do to get the same results?
Sometimes the data base file (on the server) is shown as corrupt by FFS. May be because of the rights / permissions? I have changed them to 666, but it didn't help.
777 either doesn't.
Deleting that file helped.
And now the files be shown as equal by content (comparing on the local hard disk) are shown as unequal by comparing local with server.
I have downloaded again a complete website and compared with WinMerge by content - great program, I really had forgotten - and after syncing there are no files shown to be unequal by WM. FFS shows about 2000 files unequal after comparing by content. May be it has to do with the "carriage return types"...
Comparison local - server: shows files as unequal by content but they aren't?
