Hello,
After my first backups (with versioning) of files with FreeFileSync were successful, I would also like to back up a complete directory (folder / subfolder / files).
The backup from the previous day should then be saved completely (!) as a version with the next synchronization until 3 versions are reached. The fourth version should then delete / overwrite the first version. How can I realize this with FreeFileSync? Which synchronization settings are required for this in the "Comparison Settings" ?

FFS only versions files that are deleted or overwritten by a sync.
FFS versioning does not create a full backup of everything, whether it was deleted or overwritten by a sync or not.
FFS is a file synchronization program, and although it can be used for backups to some extent, it is not a backup tool.
For what you want, there are likely more suitable tools than FFS.

Many thanks to Plerry for the explanation. Too bad I can't realize my idea with FFS. But maybe the software will be extended with backup functions in the future.
