I recently upgraded my computer's hard discs and ever since then I get an error at the auto sync time
Configuration file [file name] is incomplete. The missing elements will be set to their default values.
The following XML elements could not be read:
<FreeFileSync> <Synchronize> <Variant>
<FreeFileSync> <Synchronize> <DetectMovedFiles>
What does this mean? THanks!

For whatever reason, those two settings have been lost or became corrupt.
Open the *.ffs_gui or *.ffs_batch sync configuration at stake in your FreeFileSync (FFS) GUI.
Then, in the Synchronization Settings (F8) select your desired synchronization method (Two-way, Mirror, Update or Custom), and checkmark if you want to use a database file to detect moved files.
After that, save your sync configuration.
Next time you run that sync configuration, your error/warning message should no longer appear.
