Hi All,
I’ve been using FreeFileSync for about two years or so and have two Business Edition installations on two different servers.
I’ve noticed on both servers that, over time, the logs show that a time gap between the Scanning phase of a scheduled task batch job and the Sync phase gradually increases over time to be several hours long. The timeframe for it getting noticeably bad is maybe two months.
The only thing that I’ve found that cures that behaviour is to install a different version of FreeFileSync, and it doesn’t seem to matter if I go newer or older – it just has to be a Different version.
I’m thinking that there is something being cached locally that is being parsed or scanned by FreeFileSync (or maybe SentilelOne or similar AV software?)
I’m running version 14.4 (or 14.0 when the delay gets too bad) on Windows Server 2019 and the various jobs sync to a remote NAS, a local file server, and a usb-attached external HDD. All the different target locations/jobs are affected similarly.
Just wondering if anyone has seen this symptom before and if there is a cache or other item that I can clean out periodically rather than move versions.
Thanks!
Long delay between Scan and Sync phases
