I think I would like to see two options that I cant seem to find.

1. Ability to add an admin password to the software.
2. Option in setting "If more than 50% of the files are changes request password"
3. Ability to add password for destination like BitLocker.

Here is the work flow. Lets say you want to back up a folder. You can encrypt the drive with bitlocker to require write access. The sync software will check log in using the deryption key and scan the files. If more than 50% of tiles are changes it will require the admin password to ensure that no ransomware caused this.

I seen this in other software but i like the freefilesync functions. I am also a donor so do not think I am saying this because it is free.

1. A software password is easily broken, and it doesn't protect any data directly.
2. Kind of a thing already, there is a warning for significantly different locations. I do not know the threshold though. Password here also doesn't matter, since you could simply perform the actions manually as well. You could subset the data to no longer breach the threshold if you were malicious enough.
3. This require storing a password to something that is supposed to be as un-penetrable as possible. Proper storage of keys to these locations are extremely difficult and open you up to huge liability. I'm not the dev, but I wouldn't touch anything security related with a 100-yard pole. You then could also have an attacker that gets FFS access, lets FFS open up the BitLocked volume, then does the nefarious activity while it's unlocked.

Your workflow is not solved by software, but by human training
