I installed version 14.4 and wanted to update to the latest version. Unfortunately, the setup does not want to install the latest version where the old one is. Why not?
To adjust everything is cumbersome.

I don't believe the default install location changed, did you manually change it previously? If so, you'll have to change it every time you install it. Obtaining the donation edition and auto-upgrade might solve this for you, though.

The default install directory is inferred from the symlink that was set by the previous installation:
/usr/local/bin/freefilesync for an all users installation
$userHome/.local/bin/freefilesync for single user installation
/usr/local/bin/freefilesync for an all users installation
$userHome/.local/bin/freefilesync for single user installation

So wait until the current version appears there.
