My hard drive recently crashed and, after adding a new one, I had to reload all my applications, including FreeFileSync.
Now that I've reloaded it, I've created a new sync profile but it doesn't look right. When I click Compare, the left column is totally blank... That's the column that should contain everything I want mirrored on the G drive, correct?
Have I set this up incorrectly?
I'm a rookie myself. But i would say it's correct. I don't know if all of the 434 files are temp files, but what i see they are. They don't exits now on your HDD but they still exist on your Back up - and will be deleted.
Your left column is not totally blank!
As you can see mid below the left and right column, your left column comprises 86167 + 3 visible items; you just need to scroll down to see those items.
The 25023 items that are equal left-to-right are presently hidden, but you can toggle the visibility of each Compare result category by clicking the corresponding icon mid below the left and right column.

The 434 items that exist right-side only (and, because you intend to run a Mirror sync, would be deleted right-side when performing the actual sync) exist at least partially in your listed right side Temp folder (and possibly in one or more other locations).
So, you need to critically review if (any of) those 434 items need to be retained.
If so, and all those items reside in your listed Temp folder, you could consider to use the Exclude Filter to exclude the Temp folder from your sync.
You can do so e.g. by right-clicking on the Temp folder in your right-side column and use the context menu to add your Temp folder to your list of excluded items.
