Using the latest edition of FFS on Linux Mint 22.2, compares will randomly halt with the following pop-up message: "EINVAL: Invalid argument [read]" when accessing files and folders on network drives. Ignoring the error(s) allows the compare to continue, but the comparison is reported as an error. The errors are random in that during repeated comparisons of the same folder/directory trees throws different files as being mismatched. By comparison, I don't see this issue with using the same release of FFS on macOS when connecting to the same networked drives.
From a terminal session, a diff -s confirms that the files/folders that FFS fails on are identical.
At face value, it would appear to be some sort of network-related issue. However, as already mentioned, using diff throws no such errors.
In the example screenshot, FFS fails comparing a copy of its installation package. Ironic?
