nothing happened after download ??

I downloaded the software -- clicked on the setup file and nothing happened except for an unfamiliar icon appearing on my taskbar which, when clicked, appeared to want to install a browser called Pulse ?? When I go to my Search bar and type in "freefilesync" only a web search showing it comes up. Why is the software/app not loadded onto my computer?

You may want to reset your browser. Maybe there's a setting/extension causing this. I just downloaded it and it came back fine. Also, check the SHA256 of the setup.exe file you got. You can do this with 7zip or NanaZip locally, or probably find a website to upload it to. Here's the info I got for the file I downloaded:

I apparently clicked on the download option in the pop up window that appears in the center of the landing page but is not freefilesync. After deleting the setup file from my download folder, and downloading from freefilesync, it is installed. But now I don't know how to get started with backing up. I posted separately about that.
