Hi,
I am using FreeFileSync on a Windows virtual machine to sync user file data to Google Drive.
Today, I had to restart the virtual machine, and now FreeFileSync refuses to start, asking for activation. However, it says it is already installed on one device (yes, this device! 🙂). This has happened before (about a month ago), and at that time I was able to remove the license from the website and reactivate it. Now, however, it says I have to wait until April 4th, 2026 to do that.
I have been using FreeFileSync for a couple of years now, and this is the first time I’ve encountered this issue.
Any clues?
My kindest regards,
Daniel Caetano

Thanks for the tip. I tried it, but unfortunately the result is still the same. :(

Just a correction in the title... kkk it is de business license, not donation (donation is the one I use at home).

There have been some earlier posts in this forum regarding problems with FFS license registration when using virual machines.
The conclusion is that virtual machines that each time look like a new device to FFS are currently not supported.
Consider installing the your donation or business edition on your base machine/server.

I believe it has something to do with an update to the virtualization OS. I’ll see what I can do about it.
Thanks!
Thanks!
