I made an interesting revelation after cloning my system drive. The only program that wouldn't launch on the cloned drive was FreeFileSync. The error message read (translated from German):
"The installation files are corrupted. Please reinstall the operating system.
The installation was registered on a different operating system."
Of course, this isn’t a big deal, but I’m surprised that of all things, a freeware program would notice the cloning.

(I believe, though free, the /installation/ is still tied to a particular machine.
And when you blanket /copy/ the installation directory, onto a different machine,
it sees this mismatch.
And it asks you to reinstall your OS?
I'd think it would ask you to reinstall FFS, only.
[And of course, backup first.])

Ups, you are right. I messed up the translation. Of course the error message says:
"... Please reinstall FreeFileSync."
"... Please reinstall FreeFileSync."
