I'm new to the forum, but I love FreeFileSync. So super helpful in many situations.
One thing that I am missing though is, after performing a Compare (in mirror mode), I would like to know how many files and how many GB are going to be deleted from the target destination.
It's great to know how much will be copied, but I also need to know how much will be deleted.
That should be pretty easy to implement ? Or does the feature exist and I just didn't find it ?

After running a Compare, in the field mid below the Compare results (field 11 of the Main Dialog Overview on the #Quick start manual page) there appear icon-buttons for each non-empty compare result category.
Those icons also show the number of entries per category.
(Note: You can toggle the visibility of the entries of each category by clicking said icons.)
Similarly, right below the Compare results the Statistics (field 12 of the Main Dialog Overview on the #Quick start manual page) shows the amount of bytes/kB/MB per category.

Thanks for your reply and for the explanations.
Somehow it's still not completely clear to me :
Field 11 indeed behaves as you described, telling me how many files will be copied / erased
In field 12 however, I struggle interpreting what I read.
The typical scenario for me is : a certain amount of data is going to be copied from left to right (backup of a working drive), and a certain number of files on the right are going to be deleted, because of changes on the left side.
I expect to see two figures : how many GB are going to be copied, and how many GB are going to be erased.
However I see only one figure, and I'm not sure what it relates to.
Can you clarify ?
[I did some testing. If only one file needs to be deleted, and none copied, then the figure indeed represents the amout to delete. But when I have both copies from L-R and deletions on the right side, I don't know what the figure tells me]

When you hoover your mouse over the 7 symbols in the Statistics field (12) FFS tells you what the number below that symbol means.
I made a mistake:
All symbols but the middle symbol tell you the number of files (per category), and only the middle symbol the amount of data to be copied (in total, but in your use-case apparently only left-to-right).
There is no symbol or number for the total (or right-side) amount of data to be deleted.

Yes that's what I discovered too.
That is precisely the feature that I was suggesting should be added - and I can't imagine it should be too complicated.

t would be very useful, and make FFS much more reliable, as one could monitor it more clearly.
