Hello!
I am using FFS 14.8 on a mac with Tahoe 26.2 to backup a Lightroom catalogue (v 15.1).
The Source is located on a external Flashdrive with USB4, the backup is located on a quite identical Flashdrive.
The complete data consist of a directory with all the pictures in a subdirectory and the catalogue-file (the .lrcat) with all its companions in the main directory.
One of them causes trouble:
Adobe stores in the .lrcat-data the information about AI edits. In an example this file is 1,36 GB, the catalogue is 103,2 MB (in earlier versions of lightroom everything was mixed up in one .lrcat, which leads to a tremendous expansion of this file. Later it was separated.)
Problem: If I make the backup with FFS I get an error when starting the backup-catalogue:
"Lightroom has encountered an issue updating AI edits. Future AI edits may not be saved and could be lost. Please contact Adobe Customer Support for troubleshooting."
If I make the backup by simply copying the whole structure this issue does not appear.
If I look at the infos on the file in finder I find the file are of the same size:
Source 1.356.317.180 Byte
Backup 1.356.317.180 Byte
Does anyone have an idea what the cause is and how to solve it?
Best regards
Gernot

Possibly permissions. FFS doesn't copy permissions by default. In FFS options, there is an option to copy DACL, ACLS, etc
Requires running FFS as Admin though

Hi, I tested it, but that was not the solution...
