What is Activation Key?

Hi all.
I usually work with FreeFileSync 14.09, Donation Edition, under Debian 13.
Today I cannot log to Internet and received a message asking for an activation key.
I get the correct activation key for that machine but, how can I insert the activation key to be ready for the next time the machine will not log to Internet?
