I installed FreeFileSync and promptly cursed myself :) I have the donation edition, currently 14.10, which is also shown in the program window title. However, the Help menu doesn't contain an auto-update option, which is apparently supposed to be there! I've checked with both the portable and installed versions (Windows 10 v19045), with the same results.

I'd appreciate being shown where I did something wrong :)

I see, "Help | Check for updates now".
(Don't know if there is supposed to be any "auto-update" mechanism?)

Yeah, the Donation edition adds auto-updating, parallel file copy, email notifications, and a portable zip option, all of which I need :) Well, OK, "want", but still.

If you have the Donation version installed, if you go to
Help / Check for updates now
a "Check for updates now" window pops up which, if you do not have the latest FFS version installed, will show you "FreeFileSync XX.YY is available" (where XX.YY refers to the most recent version). And at the bottom there is a button "Auto-update".

Just right of FFS's main menu Help, FFS will also show "*FreeFileSync XX.YY is available*". Clicking on that and then on "Show details" will show the same "Check for updates now" window as described above, with the same "Auto-update" button.
