Large number of FreeFileSync sync files being deleted in OneDrive

Hi everyone,

I’m running FreeFileSync with multiple folder pairs, and OneDrive is repeatedly warning me that a large number of files have been deleted.

Looking at the deleted items, many appear to be FreeFileSync generated sync files, such as lock files or database files. I understand these may be used by FreeFileSync to manage synchronization state and prevent conflicts, but I’m not sure how much creation and deletion of these files is considered normal.

Is it expected for FreeFileSync to generate and remove many sync-related files during normal sync activity?

If so, is there a recommended way to configure FreeFileSync when the sync target is inside OneDrive, so OneDrive does not interpret this as unusual mass-deletion activity?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

viewtopic.php?t=13130#p51111 might explain what FFS does.
OneDrive seems to retain deleted files in its own specific way.
