How to use different devices for same backup?

I was looking for a way on Linux to allow the use of a single profile to back up to whatever removable USB device is connected, without the devices having to have the same volume label. On Windows, this is easy, using drive letters. On Linux, though, the destination needs to be /media/user/label, so I cannot see how to achieve the same thing.
