Access Permissions Error Message

When syncing with iCloud, the following error message appears for some files: “CocoaError 513: ‘File xy’ could not be moved to the Trash because you do not have the required access permissions. [NSFileManager::trashItemAtURL]” However, I created these files and have edited them exclusively myself; in iCloud, “Allow access to files” is enabled and “Enhanced Privacy” is disabled; in FreeFileSync, “Copy file access permissions” is enabled. I am the sole user and administrator. These errors do not occur when syncing with external hard drives and have been happening since version 14.11. I’m using macOS 26.6.2.
I have to overwrite the files manually—which is really annoying.

This is most definitely an iCloud issue, not FFS. iCloud is only good when it works, but that is rare.

My workaround is this: Delete the relevant file in iCloud and sync it using FFS. Then, any changes made to the local file will sync to iCloud via FFS without any errors.
