I have been using FFS successfully for some years to synchronise my library of FLAC files on my Brennan B2 2TB hard drive to my ReadyNAS, with very little problem. It had generally been very reliable. I should say that I have a Win 11 system with the B2 connected wirelessly and the ReadyNAS connected by Ethernet.
In the last few days, since updating the software on the PC to the 14.11 Donation edition, I started a 2 way sync as usual, as I thought, and noticed as I started a warning that there were large differences between the B2 and the NAS. Having recently added a large number of files to the B2, this seemed to be not an unreasonable warning, so I continued for a while. But found to my dismay, when I stopped to check progress, that I had lost all the files from “A …” to “Bach” from the B2, while the NAS directory only contained about 10 folders of recent music. I carefully checked the settings to find that somehow they had been changed to Mirror (I think, it’s hard to remember in my stress and my anxiety!). I reset to 2-way, thinking that I would have the remainder of the “Be…” to “Y…” folders saved from the B2 to the NAS, and the recent 10 folders on the NAS drive added back to the B2 drive. Well, the second happened but now all the original B2 folders disappeared completely! 😢
And I can’t find any of the missing folders in the Recycle bin, where I was expecting to discover them! 🤪
Could somebody please help me with where to find the log files to discover where the missing folders have gone?
Thanks in advance.
