Is there anyway to add a safety feature were if too many files and folders have been changed at the source then the job aborts updating/mirroring the destination?
I know there is a 50% alert change but can this be changed our side to say 4%?

By default FreeFileSync (FFS) gives you a warning (no abort) if there are substantial differences between your left and right location(s).
You can disable/enable that warning via the FFS GUI main menu Tools / Options / Show details (of hidden dialogs and warning messages) / "The following folders are significantly different ..."
