Hi Folks,

After more than a decade of using my donation version of FFS, first under Windows and later under Kubuntu, I am finally switching to rsync from Linux. I tried all I could find to get FFS to work under Wayland [Kubuntu 26.04] but failed.
Today I migrated my FFS jobs [manually] to rsync successfully.

Thanks for the community and the support. FFS is a great tool still, but the Wayland display server appears to be the future for Linux distros, so if FFS can't run in that environment, lots of Linux users will have to find an alternative soon.

Have fun, all the best!
#!/usr/bin/bash
rsync -r -t -v --delete -s --info=COPY1,DEL1,NAME1,BACKUP1,REMOVE1,STATS1 /mnt/SOURCE /media/TARGET >>/mnt/FFS_Logs/SOURCE_"`date +"%d-%m-%Y-%H-%M"`".log

If you intend to try FreeFileSync under wayland, make sure you have XWayland installed as well. That is an X11 server implemented on top of wayland.
