Hi everybody,
I have been using FreeFileSync for some months and found it to be a really great and helpful tool, so I donated today. Now I have received a download link for the donation edition.
Will I have to uninstall my flatpak installation first to use it? If yes, how would I get future updates?
Or can I upgrade my installed edition in any way?
Thanks in advance to anybody who can help to clarify this for me
Heinz

Anything on Flatpak that is not Verified must be treated as a toxic cancer that will blow apart your system.
There is absolutely no way of knowing what it contains.
For the FFS one (https://flathub.org/en-GB/apps/org.freefilesync.FreeFileSync) it is 99.9999% likely to be safe,, BUT, one simply cannot know. This is one of the benefits of open source, and a curse.
The true answer is to download the Linux "run" file off the sites official downloads page. Open the zip and run the file (double click it). It will self install. The software will alert you when an update is available.
There is no official deb, PPA or otherwise yet. That is why I came today (to see if its changed) and saw your question :-)
Ive been a "forever user" and paid up supporter. Its awesome software and one of my very favourite projects ever.
