Error Code 87

Using FFS v5.19 and v6.0 with Win7, I get an Error Code 87 when files are copied to our departmental fileserver, but NOT when the files are copied to a USB drive. Any suggestions?

[2:22:05 PM] Error: Cannot copy file
"C:\Users\mustarilab\Desktop\Patos\Patos 2013.12.19\Patos_2013.12.19_1413_Radial.smr" to
"R:\Mustari Lab\backup_vm\Patos\Patos 2013.12.19\Patos_2013.12.19_1413_Radial.smr.ffs_tmp".
Error Code 87: The parameter is incorrect. (CopyFileEx)

Through observation, I now know that a file that produces an Error Code 87 today may not produce an error tomorrow. So, over time, error-producing files will get backed-up.

I have also learned that activating "Automatic retry on error" in FFS Global Settings, enables FFS to self-recover. Today, a file that produced an Error Code 87, copied just fine 5 seconds later when FFS tried again.

Thank you for the follow-up! Seems like some temporary network problem then. This may explain other "Error Code 87" as well.

I am running into this same issue. However, I am seeing this as a persistent issue.
Any hope of getting this resolved? I am on version 6.11 of FreeFileSync.
