Error Code 17, syncing between local drive and network drive

I'm trying to sync (mirror) a folder on the 'C' drive, and a folder on a network drive. The 'C' drive is on a Windows 2008 R2 server running on a VM and the network drive is an NFS volume. The error that pulls up is labeled as 'Error Code 17'. I can copy files over to the networked folder via explorer manually, but FFS is having a hard time with it. I've tested syncing between a Windows 2012 server running on a VM with my host drive (running VMWare on my laptop) and had a few bumps with permissions, but once that was figured out, smooth sailing. My first thought is that it's a permissions thing again, but I'm pretty new with FFS, so figure I would see if anyone else has run into this problem. I can create folders fine, but syncing doesn't work. Any ideas?

Error Code 17 is ERROR_NOT_SAME_DEVICE. Can you post the full error message text and give more info on what you are doing?
