Hello,
I use FreeFileSync on a daily basis to synchronize my data from my computer to a backup drive. Is it possible to encrypt the destination (backup) folder after sync, and decrypt it before sync, with help from FreeFileSync? Or, if not so, which tool would you recommend me for doing that?
Thanks.

A tool similar to Truecrypt will do this (but probably not Truecrypt itself anymore as it's discontinued)

Thanks for the help. Yes, there are apparently different alternatives. I'm considering VeraCrypt. What's your opinion about that, if any?

I do the same, under Windows. My destination folder is a Windows EFS
folder so all files underneath get automatically encrypted by the system.
(I am not worried about my directory structure being visible.)

I have all my files in a 30GB TrueCrypt .TC file (encrypted drive volume) on a 500GB portable USB 3.0 drive. I have a copy of the .TC file on my WORK, HOME, and LAPTOP computers. The first and last thing I do on each computer is use FreeFileSync to sync the portable drive with the computer. So everything is always backed up and encrypted. TrueCrypt is not maintained anymore but it still works perfectly. The best replacements are VeraCrypt and CipherShed (when it's ready).
