Mirror makes the right folder exactly similar to left folder. Update copies
new/updated files to right folder. Aren't both one and the same? Please
explain if not...

"Update" doesn't do deletions and doesn't overwrite newer files with older
ones. The exact settings can be seen on the right hand side of the settings
dialog.

Is one better than the other? I mean, would copy not be better than mirror? I
am new to this and learning so thanks for your help.

What the different variants do exactly can be seen on the right hand side of
the sync config dialog. (With the exception of the <automatic> variant which
uses a database to determine sync directions.)

Is it better to go with file size and date or file content?

Okay, I think I may understand the mirror. If I have deleted some folders out
of the original file and the backup folder still has it in it, the file will
be deleted in the mirror, but in the copy it will still be left alone if
nothing is to be added. Right?
