Shadow Copy requires Administrator Access?

Hi,

It seems that for Shadow Copy to work the user running FFS has to have
administrator access ... is that really right? I don't want all users to have
that level of access ... :-).

That's right, for VSS you need admin rights.

Is there any way to change this, or is it limited by Windows itself? It is a
bit of a pain, but not a showstopper of course.

That's required by the Windows VSS API. However (at least if security is not a
concern) I'd suggest to edit shortcut settings to start FFS with admin rights
per default, this saves a few clicks.
