Dear all,
I'm planning to use FFS in order to mirror 2 large fileserver (around 2TB each) on a disaster recovery site.
I'm already using Symantec Backup Exec nightly to backup those server. It use the archive bit in order to manage the differential backup.
I wonder if FFS will touch the source server and in particular if it reset the archive bit, so that the Backup exec process could have problem.
Did you have any experience/suggestion with a similar scenario?
best regards

FFS doesn't handle the archive bit, so the behavior will be the same as if you copied the files manually via Windows Explorer.

When FFS copies a file without archive bit to the compared folder and that file has an archive bit then, that's not mirroring then. The files are not exactly the same. A backup program that compares the files among other characteristics by the archive bit doesn't recognize the two files as equal.
