I'm a italian user of FreeFileSync
Can I speak italian with you?
I try in english (with google translate):
Hello, I have a problem with FreeFileSync, which does not work on an external disk (NAS).
I can't synchronize your Documents folder of mac my daughter Elisa, with the same folder on my network drive (nas) of Western Digital, model MyCloud.
When syncing, just playing, it crashes, the message:
Can not write permissions "/Volumes/Public-1/Elisa/Documenti/.localized."
Error Code 1: operation not permitted (chown)
The Mac makes perfect disk access. In fact, the folder I want to sync, it is within the network drive in the following location:
MyCloud / Public / Elisa / My Documents.
The Public folder inside MyCloud is seen anyone come given access. After it is created, I copied the Mac within about 300 Mb of files.
When I launch the synchronization, the program has access to the folder reads and compares data. But when part of the synchronization breaks down, because it seems not to have access to the folder to lack of privileges.
Of course this is impossible, the Public folder on the network drive is done on purpose because all that is inside is accessible and editable to the user encoded on the disc; also see both reading and writing also from my windows PC.
I contacted Apple support and Western Digital, but both tell me that the problem is FreeFileSync.
The program works perfectly on my windows PC.
In fact, I sync the Documents folder on a regular basis in the folder:
MyCloud / Public / Michael / Documents.
I attach the log file, hoping you can give me a solution.
I look like your instructions.

About the error message:
Looks like you have inadvertently enabled "Copy file access permissions" in FreeFileSync's global options.
About the crash: At which time did the crash occur, relative to the error message? Did you close the main dialog, while the progress dialog was shown?

from the Tools menu options: there's the flag of:
copy file error-proof
copy file access permissions
These are the default options that are installed automatically.
Even on my Pc windows are the same flags.
Can you give me more information?

I recently installed the 6.9. THE problem remains.
I pointed the bug from August 13 I'm waiting for an answer. Times seem a bit 'too long to one who asks for help.
I am available to send log file, or anything else required to help identify the cause of the error.
I hope to receive a reply soon.

You mention two problems:
1. a crash
is this still occuring? Is it reproducible?
2. an error message "Can not write permissions"
Disable checkbox menu->options: copy file permsissions

About the crash: From your stack trace posted above it looks like you have closed the FFS main dialog while the progress dialog was shown? This is currently unsupported and a known problem. The main dialog should be disabled, but this isn't possible to implement at the moment. The workaround is to first close the progress dialog.

I followed your instructions and I removed the flag from the following fields:
1) Copy file to Fail
2) A copy locked files
IL program works perfectly as on windows.
It remains, however, 'a small problem:
When I enter the menu "configure synchronization rules" in the central panel displaying images of:
category
actions
If you place your mouse in action, comes overlay the selected action type (such as green-arrow to the right means to copy the new object on the right).
If you try the same action on the images next to the category (for example, the object exists only on the left side), while approaching the mouse overlay nothing comes out.
Currently on the macbook is installed the last 6.8.
Let me know if you possile when and if you think i fix this bug.
Thanks for the time being of the aid.
