the forum registration does not allow to type @ in email field, which is kind of annoying to register. I had to type the mail in the username and copy paste it to the email field ( luckily this was not deactivated too).

Sounds strange, I'm not aware that there is some limitation on this field and typing @ also works for FireFox. Maybe this limitation is caused by your browser?
