When trying to install the release 8.0 I immediately get the error message:
Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service.
There are many GBs free on the disks and in the memory.

This sounds like a firewall/AV sofware that blocks the installer from loading.

What changed since version 7.9?
The AV was always active during the last 15 installations.
Scanning the FreeFileSync_8.0_Windows_Setup.exe file don't report any issues (virus).

The "Insufficient system resources" is a typical misleading error message if some other software blocks the FFS installer, presumably some lazy AV software which doesn't bother to show some indication that it's active. Could be Avira.

Disabled the network before the installation according to thread.
Avira Antivirus Pro was ON.
Installation without any issues.
