New option? Where files overlap, rename and keep both

I love (and $upport) FreeFileSync and find it handles nearly every situation I can throw at it. Today something came up which I couldn't resolve and I'm wondering if perhaps I'm missing something, and if not whether it could be added.

Folder A and Folder B have collections of photos, most of which are unique to one or the other but some of which occur in both. For files that occur in both there's no predictability as to which is the right one to keep. Sometimes it's the newer, sometimes the older. For example, Folder A may have an original of a photo that was reduced or cropped in Folder B, so I don't want the "newer" version in B to overwrite the original full resolution file in A.

In Teracopy there's an option to handle overlaps by keeping both, which the program does by adding an underscore and a number to the end of one file name. Is there any way to do something similar in FFS? I'm using Two Way Sync with the goal of making Folder A and Folder B identical, while also avoiding losing any version of any file (where they are bit for bit identical I'd be fine with keeping them as is of course).

If this isn't currently a capability is there a workaround that someone has found and/or the possibility of seeing this added? Currently the best workaround I've come up with is to highlight all the files that are going to be overwritten, right click them and copy to an interim folder, do this on both sides, then run the sync, allow the deletions and then paste the interim folder contents back in using Teracopy (thus getting the underscore-2 rename) and syncing one more time. Crude but effective but it's be oh so much better to have a feature built in. Thanks for any thoughts!

You could use Versioning as the Deletion Method.
