Hi, I'm a "Donator". In the past, I was able to "install" the older version 7.x which placed all the files in the /usr/share in Linux. I see no way to do that with 8.1.

Getting frustrated here. I posted a month ago with no response what-so-ever.

Here's my configuration and what I want to do. AND what I WAS able to do before any updates.

Linux Mint Mate 17.3. I have a drive mapped via /etc/fstab to a remote server. I used to be able to start FreeFileSync from an autostart and every time I file was changed or created it was copied to the server. Worked perfectly!

Now, I cannot "install" the app... and running from the autostart does absolutely nothing.

To clarify: I may have been using RealTimeSync in my autostart, I don't recall, every thing ran fine for well over a year.

I cannot "copy" files to /usr/share, I get permission errors. Of course. I can no longer do any install. sudo apt-get install does not work.

Why is Linux so poorly supported? Where's the documentation? Even the "Help" within the Linux version is for Windows!

I'll send you 50 euros if you'll help me get this running again! Great program. HORRIBLE support!

The FreeFileSync ppa version on Launchpad is community-maintained and not always up to date. The most-recent FFS portable (= no install required) versions for Linux can always be obtained from https://freefilesync.org/download.php.
How to schedule tasks on Linux (at least one of many ways) is documented here: https://freefilesync.org/manual.php?topic=schedule-a-batch-job
Generally, the documentation is cross-platform even if the screenshots are mostly from Windows.
