I would just like to comment on a little quirk that freefile sync does when running off of a portable installation.
If the %appdata\freefilesync\globalsettings.xml file does not exist, the tools options settings are not applied to the instance of the program running. This is extremely annoying, is there a way to read the xml settings file from another location via command line?

The portable version loads GlobalSettings.xml directly from the installation directory.
