Create a file history with modified files only

Hello,

I like the feature of Dropbox to restore older file versions if needed. The build-in file history in windows is bad imo so I'd like to create a filehistory with FFS.
Currently I'm syncing 2 folders. Folder A is the original folder while folder B is the backup folder. FFS compares the two folders regularly. If a file has been modified in folder A, it is copied with a timestamp to folder B.

The Problem is that there are a lot of files in folder A which will never be modified, still they have to be in folder B for a comparision. It takes up a lot of space.

Could FFS create some sort of database with properties of all files in folder A (date, size, name, etc.)? When I now modify a file, FFS could compare folder A with this database instead and not with folder B and only copy the modified file with a timestamp to folder B.
