Update won't synchronise

I have been happily using v3.7 for many several years - auto update didn't offer anything new, presumably due to version change.
Checked web site & updated to v6.12 on Win 7 Pro 64 bit & Win 8.1 PCs.

In both cases I got a long report about failure to find or read multiple files on first run. Attempting to do any comparison produces a list with zero entries on both sides of the comparison.

I have reinstalled v3.7 on both machines & both run OK.

What did I do wrong?

What error messages did you get? did you review your sync config including filter settings?

If I remember correctly, ...
FFS v6.x is not backward compatible with FFS v3.x stored sync setting.

Try to recreate your "old" sync setting by defining a new sync in FFS v6.x
(and store this new sync if succesful).
You should still be able to consult your v3.x stored sync settings with any
arbitrary text editor.

Thanks - that sounds like the problem.

I have tried resetting sync settings, but have not had any success, so far.

I guess a reboot and/or install as administrator may do the job.
