As the title says, the linux binaries are for Ubuntu Unity only.
I tried grabbing the source zip but am unable to get it to compile.
There are prereq's for GTK+ devel, gnome-devel and something called zenXml
but there are no instructions (that I could find) on how to configure
the compile toolchain.
Please either provide a generic Debian binary (no Unity or other desktop dependency,
other than GTK), or add detailed instructions to the source code that describe
how to compile and configure it.
This is one of the best cross-platform utilities out there but I can't run it
on my Debian machines. The Arch Linux version out of the AUR works fine.

Linux binaries have been configured only for UBUNTU UNITY - they will not install on any other desktop

Debian is currently a pain point. The official GCC compiler on Debian is 4.7 which is too old to compile FFS, which needs at least GCC 4.8. Currently it seems we all have to wait until the next major Debian update that comes with updated infrastructure.

Thanx Zenju .. I use Debian testing/SID so all that stuff is up-to-date. Too bad Jessie won't be here till at least May ... (:Debian is currently a pain point. Can this be related to 6.14 not working on Linux Mint 17.1? Version 6.13 worked OK on that. I use the cinnamon desktop, and posted about this in another thread.
