Mirroring - FFS Still Sees Deleted File

I started with the status "Both sides have changed since last synchronization." I deleted one of the files using Windows Explorer and re-ran the sync. The same status is still displayed even though the file is gone and that side of the Compare view is empty. I suspect this has something to do with the DB not being updated correctly. Why would FFS not check the file system and update the DB in this case? I have run FFS a few times but the status remains the same and nothing is done.

A "delete" is also considered a modification. To resolve the conflict you need to set a sync direction.
