FFS - Comparison/Sync Issues - Error/Crash

Recently I upgraded my FFS to 8.6 for Windows, I'm running this on my Windows 7 system.

As I do a sync (a new sync) I keep getting a crash/error. "FreeFileSync - Folder Comparison and Synchronization has stopped working". I can't get past about 2-5% of my sync.

I've restarted my system, created a new sync to do this backup and I still get the error/crash.

Any suggestions? It all seems to be going well and is left unattended ... but then this happens!

Let me know if I can provide any additional details on this. A couple weeks ago, this was working just find for a different (and much more massive) data sync.

If you can reproduce the hang, you can send me a crash dump, then I can find out what FFS was doing while it stopped responding:

for me, my router usb ssd unmounted during operation of FFS, backing up router entware folder "/opt"
