Hi,
I've install version 8.5 by downloading the tar, uncompressing the files to a folder in my home folder then setting up a shortcut via the 'create new launcher here' method, I set the icon and put a short cut in the panel too. Brilliant all works great.
I tried the same thing when 8.6 was released but FreeFileSync would not launch. So I reverted to 8.5 and have been using that. Guess what, 8.7 won't launch either. I've tried various things to get 8.7 working, but the only way of getting FFS working is to overwrite the FreeFileSync file with the 8.5 version then I in business again.
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Many thanks.
FreFileSync 8.6 & 8.7 won't launch in Linux Mint 18

There are two supported Ubuntu versions currently, 16.04 LTS and the latest 16.10. One of the two should work for Mint. Anyway, run FFS from the command line to find out what libraries are missing.

Ah, thank you very much for your advice. I tried loading the libraries for the 16.10 version but got stuck with libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.22' so I tried the 16.04 LTS version and FFS ran up straight away - brilliant, thank you.

Dear Zenju, both version you mentioned (16.04 and 16.10) do not properly work with MTP in a Kubuntu 16.04 LTS installation (neither in Mint 18, actually).
MTP does not map in folder line, because is always leaded by "/home/<user>", even though I do not write it.
Actually, instead of having a mapping of "mtp:/" protocol you get something like: "/home/<user>/mtp:/.......", which, of course, does not work.
Suggestion to synchronize with Android in Linux Environment ?
