Greetings,
I have mirrored one drive to another and I am wondering if file sync only syncs newly added files each successive time, or will it sync the entire drive again when set to mirror? Many thanks for any input you can provide.

In essence, only differences between the left- and right-pair give rise to sync actions
(other than "do nothing").
The exact action depends on the type of sync you are running (2-way, mirror, update, custom).

Thanks Plerry. It seems like the update will be what I want to only "update" newly added files.

Similar need;
if the "View" is set to only one action (such as "Create File on Right Side") when sync is selected does FFS only take that action or does it execute an entire sync?
I am syncing a computer that has not been synced in a long time and I am hoping that there is a way to sync incrementally to maintain a better overview on what is going where.
Thanks in advance,
Beverly Howard

Related question;
Is there a way to "uncheck all" and then check only the items that are currently wanted to execute?
When I select "Exclude All" I no longer have the option to check the individual items I want to execute.
Thanks in advance,

Never tried this (so you better check this on some safe test case), but I always assumed that hiding categories just changes the visibility, not the associated action.If the "View" is set to only one action (such as "Create File on Right Side") when sync is selected does FFS only take that action or does it execute an entire sync?bevhoward
As stated/implied before, as FFS only syncs the differences between both sides, it is incremental (at file level) in nature.... Can't help you here.Is there a way to "uncheck all" and then check only the items that are currently wanted to execute?bevhoward
When you exclude files (by adding those to the exclude filter), they are excluded from the sync.When I select "Exclude All" I no longer have the option to check the individual items I want to execute.bevhoward
You can not set actions on excluded items, as they are not part of the sync.
When using an exclude filter "*" (=all), there is no easy way to un-exclude individual files.

Thanks for the confirmation.
>> When you exclude files (by adding those to the exclude filter) <<
fwiw, what I was referring to was the "Include All / Exclude All" option when <right clicking> then checkbox column.

Try this...Is there a way to "uncheck all" and then check only the items that are currently wanted to execute?
When I select "Exclude All" I no longer have the option to check the individual items I want to execute.bevhoward
- <right+click> and choose "Exclude All".
- In the lower panel, a "View Type" button will appear that has a tickbox image in the middle of it.
- The popup hint for this button is "Show filtered or temporarily excluded files".
- Click this button to see all actionable files, none of them ticked.
- Select away to your hearts content...
